Laws and Regulations

Environmental protection is so self-evident for Villeroy & Boch that all of the company's processes relevant to the environment are controlled by a central environmental management and internationally linked. The goal is to develop new, innovative production processes and solutions which use energy and raw materials more efficiently, reduce emissions and constantly improve product sustainability – far beyond the applicable laws and requirements.

EMAS certification of 4 locations

To sustainably improve energy efficiency, Villeroy & Boch have joined the Eco Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS), a voluntary instrument of the European Union.

Using a standardized management system, the continuous improvement of the environmental performance is assured, annually audited and certified by a federally supervised, independent environmental expert.

Villeroy & Boch's successful environmental policy has been confirmed through validations according to EMAS of its Mettlach, Merzig, Torgau and Sweden factories.

Certified according to DIN ISO 9001

Villeroy & Boch was the first ceramic manufacturer to be certified for the entire range of architectural ceramics under DIN EN ISO 9001. And that includes for all locations worldwide.

With this certification, Villeroy & Boch promises to have all production and business processes regularly audited by an accredited certifying agency and to assure compliance with the quality management system introduced.

By complying with strict regulations and standards, Villeroy & Boch guarantees the premium quality of all of its services and products.

Water saving tip: Look for this symbol!

The 'Water Label' indicates at a glance how much water is being used per flush.

This makes it very easy to compare different toilet models and helps with the selection of efficient solutions. This is ideal when water consumption and costs for a property need to be lowered.

'Water Label' is a European identification system for water efficiency in bathroom products which is backed by the majority of manufacturers and industry associations.
