Located in the south-west of the island of Taiwan, Kaohsiung City is Taiwan’s second-largest metropolis with over 2.8 million inhabitants. It extends over an area of approximately 3,000 square kilometres and is divided into 38 districts. Kaohsiung is home to the country’s largest harbour, which handles the majority of Taiwanese oil imports for the surrounding industries. It is also the site of Taiwan’s second-biggest airport, as well as various state and private universities and colleges. It is right in the centre of this modern city that the first boutique apartment complex is being built in the 31-storey Hsiang Cheng building on a surface area of over 2,500 square metres.

The Hsiang Cheng-Hsiang Cheng housing project. The Hsiang Cheng development is located close to the train station and the Aouzihdi Forest Park, the largest green space in the north of Kaohsiung, with good connections to public transport, shopping centres and cultural and educational facilities. The reinforced concrete architecture of the building uses frames to create a clear and precise look with black and white lines. The result is a modern style that combines a restful and understated impression with a confident presence.

Three- and four-bedroom residential units measuring from 125 to 225 square metres are planned on a total surface area of over 2,500 square metres. A storey height of 3.3 metres makes the comfortable apartments feel particularly spacious. Natural daylight flows into all rooms from two or three sides. The interior design is a fusion of clever functionality and attractive aesthetics, with warm, harmonious colours that create a pleasant and homely atmosphere in the puristic-urban rooms.

The minimalist theme continues in the elegant look and high-quality fittings of the windowed bathrooms. The bathrooms also feature various products from Villeroy & Boch’s current ranges. The large, rectangular Lunea undercounter washbasins in high-quality sanitary ceramic practically disappear into the countertops to create a striking and consistent storage surface at the washstand. As a perfect partner, the O.novo Start tap series integrates harmoniously in the bathroom design with its narrow contours and curving transitions from levers to spouts – as a single-lever mixer on the washbasin, on the bath and in the shower. The shiny chrome taps impress with their design as well as with their comfortable and sustainable features and excellent value for money.

The Lunea toilet combination and the ViClean-IA shower toilet, both floor-standing, ensure the highest standards of toilet hygiene. The stylish shower toilet features a linear design with sleek contours and a flat seat that make it almost indistinguishable from a conventional toilet. ViClean-IA also offers enhanced user comfort with intuitive operation and individual settings.
