Hyatt Regency Seattle

Guest bathrooms and more in the city’s largest hotel –
Villeroy & Boch Tiles at the Hyatt Regency Seattle

400 employees, 45 storeys, 1,264 rooms, plus 46 meeting rooms, two ballrooms, two restaurants, a bar, a gym, and a variety of lounge areas spanning an area of over 9,600 m² – Hyatt Regency Seattle, which employs more than 400 people, is the largest hotel not only in the city but also the entire Pacific Northwest region of North America. Architecturally speaking, the building designed by LMN Architects and Zena Design consists of several elements: The 8-storey podium, which is linked to a connecting block with utility access and a parking deck, houses public areas that include the lobby; the hotel rooms are located in the tower above.

Situated in the heart of downtown Seattle, a vibrant district for shopping and eateries, the 4-star hotel is close to famous attractions such as Pike Place Market, the Seattle Art Museum, the Space Needle or Chihuly Garden and Glass. It is also a good point of departure for excursions to the surrounding area, to destinations such as Bainbridge Island or Mount Rainier National Park.

The Hyatt Regency Seattle offers well-appointed hotel rooms and suites measuring between 30 and 170 m² and equipped with modern bathrooms that feature tiles by Villeroy & Boch. The floors of the entrance areas and bathrooms, and two walls in the shower/bathtub areas, are bright and friendly in matt cream white with the ASPEN porcelain stoneware range, which has an expressive stone look with strata and light veining. To provide an attractive contrast, a wall in the shower and the tiled shower floor were designed with the CROSSOVER range. The narrow, matt grey porcelain stoneware tiles, in a design reminiscent of volcanic stone, have been laid in a brickwork pattern to create a lively, authentic look. The elongated mosaics on the floor produce an interesting effect and offer the slip resistance required in wet areas.

Villeroy & Boch tiles have also been installed in other areas of the hotel: wall tiles from the CREATIVE SYSTEM 4.0 range in the colours ice white gloss and chalk grey gloss in the public toilets and the nonvitreous BIANCO NERO tiles in white gloss in the restaurant kitchen. Overall, an area of more than 28,000 m² was covered with Villeroy & Boch tiles, combining sophisticated design with the benefits of an easy-care ceramic covering.
